2026 Update: The federal 25D residential solar tax credit expired December 31, 2025. Leases/PPAs still access the Section 48 ITC through the system owner. NJ utility rebates, SuSI/ADI program, net metering, and tax exemptions remain active.

Not sure which utility serves you? Here is how to find out.
The fastest method: look at the header or logo on your monthly electric bill. It will clearly say PSE&G, JCP&L, Atlantic City Electric (ACE), or Rockland Electric (RECO). If you have a third-party energy supplier, your distribution utility still appears on the bill.
If you do not have your bill handy, use the general rule: PSE&G covers most of north/central NJ. JCP&L covers central/western NJ. ACE covers south and shore areas. RECO covers only a tiny area of northwest Bergen County.
Quick reference for which utility serves each county and major city in New Jersey. Some counties are split between two utilities.
