NuWatt's Spring 2026 Propel offer is a Transitional Ownership program — go solar with $0 down and fixed monthly payments, with a 30% discount built in through the Section 48E commercial tax credit. A third-party owner holds the system for 5 years, captures the tax credit, guarantees 85% of estimated kWh production, and passes the savings into your lower payment. Ownership transfers to you automatically at year 5 via the Early Buyout Option (EBO).

July 4, 2026 is a begin-construction safe harbor for the Section 48/48E commercial tax credit, not an expiration date. Projects that begin construction on or before July 4, 2026 lock in the full credit timing pathway and can be placed in service through roughly 2030. Projects that begin construction after that date still qualify for the 30% credit, but generally must be placed in service by December 31, 2027. Using American-made components (like our Silfab panels) is what unlocks the domestic content bonus. Starting your project on or before the safe-harbor date secures the widest, most flexible timeline.

NuWatt is a local installer serving Maine and Texas. Unlike national lease companies, we offer ownership — you own your system by year 5, not year 20+. Our payments are fixed (no 2-3% annual escalators), we use American-made Silfab panels, and you work with local crews who know your utility, your climate, and your roof.

The residential solar ITC (Section 25D) expired on December 31, 2025. If you buy solar with cash or a loan in 2026, you get $0 back from the IRS. Propel solves this by using the commercial ITC (Section 48/48E) — a third-party owner claims the 30% credit and passes those savings into your lower monthly payment.

Propel requires American-made panels to comply with the FEOC provision. We use Silfab 440W panels — manufactured in the USA, 25-year product warranty, 30-year performance warranty. Silfab panels meet all Section 48E domestic content requirements.

Yes. There is zero prepayment penalty. You can pay off your Propel loan at any time with no fees. The loan can also be transferred if you sell your home. It includes 3 reamortization dates (after months 12, 24, and 36) if you want to make a lump payment and lower your monthly amount.

You can transfer the Propel agreement to the new homeowner, or pay off the remaining balance at closing. Since solar adds approximately $20 in home value per $1 of annual energy savings, your system increases your home's resale value.
