“The Rheem EcoNet is one of the simplest units for our crews to install. Standard connections, broad air handler compatibility, and conventional wiring mean fewer surprises. The EcoNet module connects to the homeowner's Wi-Fi during commissioning. Typical install: 1 day.”
— NuWatt Energy Install Team
A heat pump increases your electricity usage by 3,000–6,000 kWh per year. Offset that cost with solar panels and power your heating with free sunshine. NuWatt designs integrated solar + heat pump systems for maximum savings.
The Rheem EcoNet costs between $4,000 and $9,500 fully installed by NuWatt Energy. The final price depends on your home’s size, the tonnage you need, and installation complexity. Note that the federal 25C heat pump tax credit expired at the end of 2025, so there is no federal credit available in 2026. However, state rebates and utility incentives may still apply.
The Rheem EcoNet is available in 4 sizes from 2 to 5 ton. A general guideline is 1 ton per 500–600 square feet, but proper sizing depends on your home’s insulation, climate zone, and layout. NuWatt performs a Manual J load calculation during your free consultation to determine the exact size.
The Rheem EcoNet operates down to 5°F, which covers many areas of southern New England (CT, RI, coastal MA). For northern NH, VT, or ME where temps regularly dip below 0°F, we recommend a cold-climate rated model like the Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat or Carrier Greenspeed instead.
The Rheem EcoNet comes with a 10-year compressor warranty and a 5-year parts warranty. NuWatt also provides our own workmanship warranty covering installation labor. Be sure to register your product with Rheem within 90 days of installation to activate the full warranty.
The Rheem EcoNet has an HSPF2 of 9.5 (heating) and SEER2 of 16 (cooling). For context, the minimum federal standard is 7.5 HSPF2 and 14.3 SEER2, so this unit is 27% more efficient for heating and 12% more efficient for cooling than the baseline. Higher efficiency means lower monthly energy bills.
The outdoor unit operates at 58 dB, which is moderate — comparable to background music or normal conversation levels. For comparison, the quietest unit in our lineup is 49 dB (Fujitsu Halcyon) and the loudest is 60 dB (Goodman GSZC18).
