Quilt is a ductless (mini-split) cold-climate heat pump system from a California startup. A single outdoor unit pairs with two or three slim indoor heads, controlled by a wall-mount or tabletop Quilt Dial thermostat and a phone app. What sets the hardware apart from a traditional mini-split is the software layer — radar-based occupancy sensing in each head and over-the-air firmware updates. Per its datasheet the 3-zone system reaches 25.3 SEER2 / 12 HSPF2 and keeps heating down to ‒13 °F. This review sticks to figures Quilt publishes — no estimates.
