Assess the documented enclosure rating together with cable storage, mounting and exposure. An outdoor rating is not a corrosion or failure-free warranty.
Basic charging can be assessed for a controlled parking space where no per-driver payment or reporting is required. Compare managed equipment if those needs change.
Match the current setting and connector to the electrical design and vehicle. Use the vehicle's scheduling controls if supported rather than assuming charger app features.

Compare written scopes on the same circuit, mounting and service assumptions. An unsupported price comparison or anticipated rebate is not deducted from the project budget.
Section 30C is unavailable for property placed in service after June 30, 2026. For qualifying property placed in service from January 1, 2023 through that date, the residential credit was 30% with a $1,000 limit per item at a main home. The business credit was 6%, or 30% when applicable prevailing-wage and apprenticeship requirements were met, with a $100,000 limit per item. Eligible location and other requirements still apply. The IRS defines an item as each charging port, fuel dispenser or storage property—not automatically an entire cabinet or household. Confirm historical eligibility and cost allocation with a tax adviser before filing Form 8911. Do not assume state or utility funding is available for a particular model or site.
