Compare 40 A and 48 A against the vehicle and available electrical capacity. Higher amperage is useful only when the vehicle and installation can use it.
For controlled or complimentary charging, review driver access and maintenance needs. Require a commercial operating design if the project needs billing, enforcement or centralized reporting.
Confirm the intended management platform and any metering requirements before ordering. Connectivity alone does not establish compliant tenant billing or a working third-party integration.

Section 30C is unavailable for property placed in service after June 30, 2026. For qualifying property placed in service from January 1, 2023 through that date, the residential credit was 30% with a $1,000 limit per item at a main home. The business credit was 6%, or 30% when applicable prevailing-wage and apprenticeship requirements were met, with a $100,000 limit per item. Eligible location and other requirements still apply. The IRS defines an item as each charging port, fuel dispenser or storage property—not automatically an entire cabinet or household. Confirm historical eligibility and cost allocation with a tax adviser before filing Form 8911. Do not assume state or utility funding is available for a particular model or site.
